The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) helps make the cost of dental care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents who do not have access to dental insurance.
Key Information
Who it's for: Eligible Canadian residents of all ages who do not have access to dental insurance.
Income limit: Your adjusted family net income must be less than $90,000.
What it covers: A wide range of oral health services, including exams, cleanings, fillings, root canals, gum treatment, and dentures.
Co-payment: If your income is under $70,000, there's no co-payment. Higher incomes pay a share of the cost.

What You Pay
The CDCP covers a set amount for each service. Depending on your income, you may pay a share of that amount, called a co-payment:
Adjusted family net income under $70,000: no co-payment.
$70,000 to $79,999: you pay 40% of the CDCP's fees.
$80,000 to $89,999: you pay 60% of the CDCP's fees.
Your dentist may also charge more than the CDCP's set fees, so it's a good idea to ask about any extra costs before treatment.
Do You Qualify?
Is your adjusted family net income less than $90,000?
You do not have access to dental insurance through work, a pension, or a private plan. Is this correct?
Are you a Canadian resident for tax purposes?
Have you filed last year's income tax return? (And your spouse or common-law partner, if you have one.)
